Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of ScribeLine — the scribeline.app website, our mobile apps, and the ScribeLine service (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you’re using ScribeLine on behalf of an organization, you’re agreeing on its behalf.

The Service

ScribeLine provides project management, logging, estimating, invoicing, payroll, and related tools for construction and service businesses. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.

Your license to use ScribeLine

For as long as your account is in good standing, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service — including installing and using our mobile apps on devices you own or control — for your own business purposes and those of your organization. This license ends when your account or these Terms end.

ScribeLine and everything that makes it work — the software, its design, and our name and logo — belong to us and our licensors. These Terms don’t transfer any ownership to you, and any rights not expressly granted here are reserved.

Your account

You’re responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for the activity of the people you invite to your organization. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

Use the Service lawfully. Don’t misuse it — for example by attempting to breach security, disrupt the Service, reverse-engineer it, resell it without permission, or use it to store or transmit unlawful content. You’re responsible for the data you put into the Service and for having the right to use it.

Your data

Your business data is yours. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, back up, sync, and display that data in order to provide the Service to you and the members of your organization. We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Billing and subscriptions

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) on the cadence shown at checkout. Fees are charged in advance. You can cancel at any time, and if you cancel partway through a paid period we refund the unused portion of that period’s plan fee on a pro-rata basis — you pay for the time you used, not the time you didn’t. Charges already incurred for usage within the period (seats, for example) are not refunded, and taxes and processing fees may be excluded where we cannot recover them. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Taxes may apply. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (such as hosting, sync, and payment infrastructure) and may integrate with services you choose to connect. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.

Legal requests

We disclose your data to law enforcement or any other authority only when we are legally compelled to — a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or equivalent legal process — and then only the specific information that process requires. We do not volunteer it, and we do not sell or share it for any other purpose. Where we are permitted to tell you about such a request, we will.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. ScribeLine helps you organize your business records but is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or legal advice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScribeLine and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk or liability. After your account is deactivated or closed we keep your data for one year so you can return to it or export it — unless you ask us to delete it sooner, in which case we will — as described in our Privacy Policy. Some records are retained longer where legal or accounting obligations require it.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
